If you scan your website logs you will be able to see the IP addresses of those users looking up your URL.
If you wish to see the server off which the request originated then look it up on www(dot)ripe(dot)net and on the drop downbox set the alternative database to "all". Please note that on the landing page at the top right for the search you have to click advanced search.
Sometimes a reverse lookup can be valuable. Someone spaming your website. (or sometimes more like google calling up loads of pages on an index that isn't recognised as a bot!) or if you have a rarely called up URL you might want to see who it is. I've noted a law firm looking up one of my URL's before getting an oblique offer to buy a certain domain. |
